reminder to self.

music: if you're gone by matchbox twenty

my obs instructor, selamat (affectionately called sally by all livingstone members of 410) read us this short passage before we parted ways after five days of battling sandflies, hours kayaking, lousy map reading and experimental cooking (ahem). here goes:

"dream what you want to dream,
go where you want to go.
be what you want to be,
because you only have one life and one chance
to do all the things you want to do.

may you have enough happiness to make you sweet,
enough trials to make you strong,
enough sorrow to make you human,
and enough hope to make you happy."

it doesn't matter that it's been two years and more since obs, but this passage is still strongly imprinted in my memory. which says alot, for those who know how lousy my memory tends to be.
