"A girl upon whom Nature, for a limited period and for a definite purpose, imposes so great a physiological ask, will not have as much power left for the tasks of school, as the boy of whom Nature requires less at the corresponding epoch."so said Dr. Edward Clarke of Harvard University many years ago, who suggested that because women were so much weaker, they should study only 1/3 as much as young men--and not study at all during menstruation.
oh, how times have changed. i'm thankful that i was born in this era. credit for this little snippet goes to my sociology textbook. (down to earth sociology)
