"It's an irritating reality that many places and events defy description. Angkor Wat and Machu Picchu, for instance, seem to demand silence, like a love affair you can never talk about. For a while after, you fumble for words, trying vainly to assemble a private narrative, an explanation, a comfortable way to frame where you've been and what's happened. In the end, you're just happy you were there--with your eyes open--and lived to see it."
-Anthony Bourdain, The Nasty Bits
i couldn't agree more with the paragraph above. that's why i don't really like to blog about my trips or extremely important events in great detail. whenever i start, i'll end up deleting the entry cause it never seems to do whatever that i saw/happened any justice.
bourdain's an extremely good read, i must say. (thanks, efei!) it's giving me energy boosts during this dreary period of exam prep. i really enjoy his tongue-in-cheek style of writing and wry humour.
exam's start tomorrow! i know it'll be over in a blink of an eye, and i cannot wait.
