a taste of home.
Question: Which Singaporean dish do you miss most right now?i asked that to my fellow crazy friends who braved the chilly winds atop the observatory deck overlooking the niagara falls for close to 3 hours just so we could catch the fireworks at 10pm.
amidst frenetically rubbing our palms together for warmth, bopping up and down on the balls of our feet and trying to convince ourselves that we weren't out of our minds, the answers came from everyone without hesitation.
"None."
"Bak Chor Mee!"
"I could do with a hot, steaming plate of Hokkien Mee right now."
"Mmm, Chicken Rice."
for me, it was Orh Lua, however you spell that. the more angmoh way of saying that would be Fried Oyster Pancake.

the other side of the world.
current location: buffalo, new york. the flight here was torturous, more about that another time. for now, just a few photos and then off to bed, because i need to win the battle against Mr. Jetlag.
took a walk round the campus with the flight buddies today in a bid to get self accustomed to the vastness of uncluttered land that the americans have the luxury of building gimoungous university complexes on.
