what is a fire, and why does it, what's that word...burn?
i have been watching a fair bit of disney channel lately. (yes, i still love my cartoons, can't get enough of them.) after coming to jc, i've been able to come home much earlier than when in rgs, when i got home around 8pm every day. and only because of this have i been able to discover the joys of 7pm television on disney when they would screen disney movies, and oh, mr bean-the cartoon! just a few days back i relived my beijing days watching the little mermaid over dinner.
when i was living in beijing, which was eons back when i still had long hair reaching down to my back tied in two neat pigtails, my family used to go to this restaurant every sunday after piano classes (which were torturous since i couldn't/still can't sight read for nuts) to get our weekly dose of the beloved peking duck. and every weekend, the restaurant would faithfully play the little mermaid on the tv in the little children's corner. and every weekend, i would faithfully plonk down infront of the tv and watch the show till the end, as if i hadn't watched it about a million times already.
ahhh. memories. haha.
my legs are aching. badly. must be the running. finished reading the time traveler's wife on sunday. towards the end, i was reduced to tears and once the waterworks started, it took awhile to stop.
oh, did i mention i was late for the last day of school last term because i thought it was saturday and thus went back to sleep after the alarm clock rang. seems like everyone still finds it thoroughly amusing.
i guess it is.

watched The Pursuit of Happyness yesterday. it's a really good show. it's hard to put down how i feel about it, so just go watch it. haha.

yeah, let's talk about bad days.
the day started off with me walking out of the house and then stepping on dog poo. DOG POO. now is the cue for me to rant and berate all those who don't know how to pick up after their own pets but for today i am resigned to fate.so, getting to school, i was confronted with the dilemma of finding a suitable place to clean off the revolting mess that was being wedged even further in the crevices of my sole with every step. walking into the toilet, i was welcomed by a wonderful gust of foul smelling stench of what else, but unflushed deposits.
seeing that the day couldn't get any worse, i made sure of it by purchasing much needed coffee from 7-11. but before i could even get a refreshing sip, i spilt it.
wonderful, just wonderful.
and guess what? as luck would have it, i stepped on the same blob of dog poo on my way home.
so now i'm sitting infront of the computer, at 2.47am in the morning, done with my book report.
and hey! my printer's out of ink and no one's online to help me print it.
loves.
things can only go better tomorrow, i mean. today.

convenience.
modern day conveniences.all too convenient?
what's the use of being one call away from your loved one if you don't pick up the phone and dial?
no, let's take the lift.
standing passively waiting for a piece of modern machinery made of cold, hard, steel to transport us from one place to another.
the lift stops.
we're stuck, trapped within this metal shell, plunged into darkness.
what moves us?
the blood, rushing through our veins.
heart, pumping.
stop, rewind.
this is all too convenient.
